Lung Cancer Cured With Omega-3 Fats

The article below has to be regarded as a natural cure for lung cancer. D.H was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2000. As of April 2004 he managed an overall decrease in lung cancer tumor mass by about 90%.

Professor Ronald S. Pardini informed me (Kevin Flatt) in an email on Tuesday, 5 August 2008 that D.H.’s most recent CT scans show continued decreases in his lung cancer tumors to 99% compared with about 90% as of April 2004, as mentioned above, and he is stable.

Ron Pardini said: “I’m preparing a “Letter to the Editor” update of his case and will include the most recent CT scans.”

Note: I hope to keep you up to date and publish more information regarding D.H.’s case in the near future.

The nude mouse tale: Omega-3 fats save the life of a terminal cancer patient. Professors publish case study of successful nutritional treatment for cancer.

Ron Pardini is not a medical doctor. Yet he is seen as a hero by his cancer-stricken neighbor, “D.H.” Pardini helped the 78-year-old after D.H. was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

“In 2000 he was told by his doctor he had only a few months to live,” said Pardini, a professor of biochemistry and associate director of the Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station at the University of Nevada, Reno. “But five years later, he is still alive, and has even gained a little weight.”

The cancerous tumors found in D.H.’s lungs have shrunk to 10 percent of what they were in 2000, according to last year’s computed tomography (CT) scans.

What worked with DH is not a common medical treatment such as chemotherapy or surgical excision. It was a nutritional intervention, drastically increasing the patient’s intake of omega-3 fatty acids, which are often found in fish oil or golden algae oil.

Pardini’s previous research showed that omega-3 fatty acids significantly depressed the growth of human mammary, ovarian, colon, prostate and pancreatic cancer cells that were injected into athymic mice—also known as nude mice.

His studies also demonstrated that fish oil consumption improves a mouse’s responsiveness to chemotherapy.

Fish oil research was inspired by observations that Inuit Eskimo populations have less breast and prostate cancer deaths.

So far, though, most studies in this country are limited to animal models, but a case study about D.H., which was published in the recent issue of the Nutrition and Cancer journal, could be a major step forward for human clinical trials.

While beginning to take high dose of fish oil and golden algae oil capsules daily, D.H. also reduced corn-based foods from his diet. Corn contains omega-6 fatty acids that Pardini said are found to increase cancer growth.

Pardini is optimistic of what his findings may contribute to cancer treatment.

“We have good evidence for employing nutritional interventions to improve cancer treatment and patient well-being,” he said.

Pardini wants to be able to provide viable non-toxic, over-the-counter solutions for the numerous people with fear of cancer in the back of their minds.

  1. I am a 55 year old internal medicine doctor from Constanta, Romania and I thank Pardini who inspired, through his article from 2005 on D.H., a treatment for my breast methastatic cancer. 10 years after my breast cancer surgery I had 2 methastases, one in my lungs and one in my liver. Chemotherapy with Taxotere and 14g per day OMEGA-3 fish oil made my methastases disappear in 5 months. Now my CT shows no sign of cancer and clinically there is also no evidence of it, so Pardini is right.

  2. Your experience adds to the growing evidence that omega-3 fish oils do cure various cancers, especially when added to any chemotherapy treatment. Also, as breast cancer can spread to the lungs as well as other areas, this can be prevented with the intake of fish oils.

I have stage 4 Lung Cancer and I would like to try this Omega-3 fish oils as I have refused chemo. Where can I get it. Please help me. I am 69 years old and need to know where and how I can purchase it Thank You for your kind considertion as this is the fight for my life

  4. Purchase high quality fish oil capsules, preferably with low amounts of mercury, from your local heath shop. Also, most health shops have DHA fish oils which is in Golden Algae Oil if you cannot find Golden algae oil.

As the man in my article took both, I would suggest you do so also as DHA seems to be more effective with lung cancer. Fish oil containd both DHA and EPA.

Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric is also effective with almost all cancers. If your local health shop does not stock curcumin you can buy it online. Search for “curcumin” together with the country you live in. I have sent an email to you in case you have not subscribed to comments on my article.

  5. Have you started taking the fish oils and have you seen any improvements as we are considering trying it.

  6. I am not sure what you mean by “improvements”. What are you considering trying it for?

I do take fish oil for my general health.

It has many benefits beyond cancer such as concentration, attitude, behavior, heart health, lowering triglycerides, eye health and much more.

The article above relates to someone who has literally cured his lung cancer with fish oils.

The first comment below the atrticle shows it’s benefits (besides it’s own anti-cancer properties) to enhance the effects of chemotheraphy on breast cancer which has spread to the lungs and liver.

  7. Hi,

I wanted to know about using fish oils to cure cancer. Can fish oils help with stage 4 lung cancer and how should it be taken( Is there a specific diet that has to be followed).

    Thanks

  8. D.H. had “terminal lung cancer” and was told by his doctor he had only a few months to live so he would of had a very advanced stage of lung cancer.

He also reduced corn-based foods from his diet. Corn contains omega-6 fatty acids that Professor Pardini said are found to increase cancer growth.

Fish oil capsules are taken with water. D.H. Built up to 15 grams of fish oil per day.

Usually there is a gram in each capsule – easy to check with your local health shop as to the amount in them and quality.

Aronzohn Ana who had both lung and liver cancer, in her comment above, took 14 grams per day in conjunction with chemotheraphy, whereas D. H. declined chemotheraphy.

Professor Pardini’s studies also demonstrated that fish oil consumption improves a mouse’s responsiveness to chemotherapy.

Any decision you make regarding chemotheraphy is entirely your decision and as per my disclaimer below – “The information and opinions on this website is for information purposes only and is believed to be accurate and sound, based on the best judgment available to the author.

  9. Hi,

My Grandad was diagnosed with TB last year and has completed his required treatment. Almost three weeks ago he started feeling ill anda was diagnosed with a completly non-cancerous but damaged left lung and partial right, due to the tubercolosis. I’m willing to suggest he take some fish oil. What are your thoughts on this?

  10. Dear Rita,I took 14 grams of omega 3 (must be corect calculated, fish oil have omega 6 ,too)and now in february , after 1 year I`m free of any cancer( In december 2008 I had metastatic breast cancer- liver and lung and in 5 months, beside chemo, omega 3 and some diet, I was free of any tumor). If you want any details, write me [email protected] -Good luck-AA

  11. Hi Annesa,

Unfortunately, it seems that fish oils may not help at all.

From the University of Maryland Medical Center: – Animal studies suggest that TB may be more severe in persons with diets rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids. These studies are not comprehensive, and it’s not clear whether there is a similar effect in humans. Until researchers know more, however, it may be wise to avoid omega-3 supplements (such as fish oil) if you have or are at risk for TB.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacterial disease that mainly affects the lungs. It is caused by the bacteria Mycobacteria tuberculosis and is spread through airborne droplets from an infected person.

This may explain why (i.e. bacterial disease).

    More research:
We therefore tested diets enriched in omega-3 and omega-6 lipids on a mouse model of tuberculosis. In contrast to the in vitro results, the omega-6 tended to increase survival of M. tuberculosis in mice, while omega-3- tended to increase pathogen killing. Overall our results together with those previously reported in the literature suggest that it is almost impossible to predict, at the whole organism level, if a diet enriched in omega-3 or -6 will be beneficial or detrimental to intracellular pathogens. (Effects of omega-3 and -6 fatty acids on Mycobacterium tuberculosis in macrophages and in mice. 1: Microbes Infect. 2008 Oct;10(12-13):1379-86. Epub 2008 Aug 14.)

My guess would be plenty of viatmin D may help especially from the sun.

Read this from my other site “Natural Remedies“.
Dr. Adrian Martineau, from the Imperial College in London, followed Modlin and showed vitamin D helped fight tuberculosis, probably from increasing these same natural antibiotics. Science has discovered more than 200 of these naturally occurring antimicrobial peptides; they are especially prevalent in the upper and lower respiratory tract; at least one inactivates the influenza virus. Let’s not forget that two other groups have also recently shown the antibiotic potential of vitamin D. (Science. 2006 Mar 24;311(5768):1770-3, J Immunol. 2004 Sep 1;173(5):2909-12, FASEB J. 2005 Jul;19(9):1067-77, J Virol. 1986 Dec;60(3):1068-74).

  12. I have tongue cancer (half of it was surgery removed) and I’m about to start radiotherapy.
However a CT scan has detected that the cancer has spread to my lungs (I was told of it by the chemotherapy Doctor but he didn’t provide any more information other than i will have to go for chemo after completion of my radio for my tongue site.)

Will Omega 3 help, and how do i detemine the dosage to take (the normal dosage stated on the bottle is 2 Softgels daily)?

Btw, I’m still on tube feeding. And is it truth that metastatic cancer to the lung rarely live past the 5 year mark?

    Thank You.

  13. Hello,
I am writing with a question on natural remedies for stage 4 soft tissue sarcoma which has spread to the lungs. My Sister-In-Law,37, was diagnosed 2 years ago. The doctors told her 2 mths ago there was no more they could do for her. They haven’t given her any treatments for almost 1.5 yrs after they found tiny spots in her lungs. They said they wanted to wait until they got bigger to do surgery but now they spread from 5 about 2 mths ago to over 30 now in both lungs. Now they say they can’t do anything else for her. Has anyone been diagnosed this the same? and if so has anything helped?
    Thanks

  14. Dear Ash, I`m Ana Aronzohn, internist and pacient. 14 months ago I had liver and lung metastases from breast cancer, corect treated, 10 years ago. Now my metastases are gone. I was inspired of Pardini and I took 14 grams of omega 3 daily,( 22 capsules of fish oil-Kirkland-684 mg/caps).No adverse effects. I`m feeling great. You must remove omega 6 oil from your diet: sunflower oil, soya oil etc. You must remove red meat , margarine, sugar .Budwig diet is OK. Budwig is a doctor who discovered omega 3 in 1953 and treated cancer with a diet plenty of omega 3 from linseed oil. Success.Ana.

  15. Dear Amanda, there is very well for your sister in law to try omega 3 -14 grams a day, exactly as Pardini`s pacient. You must calculate omega 3 from fish oil, because fish oil has omega 6 and 9 too. I took omega 3 from fish oil Kirkland, 684 mg /capsule, 22 capsules a day, and now after 14 months I`m free from any metastases. Don`t lose the time.

  16. Does Kevin Flatt’s Natural Remedies “Omega3Flat” help cure or maintain cancer tumors? My mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, with a 10% chance that her current chemotherapy will be sucessful. Her doctor has informed us that her life was “limited”. Can you please help me?

  17. My cousin, 46 years old, has been diagnosed with lung cancer along with swollen liver. They call that now she has got metastasis and will have only few months to live. Actually a doctor was treating her for TB since last nine months and due to that incorrect treatment, her liver is also damaged. Will she has a chance to recover from lung cancer by taking omega-3? Please enlighten me about it. Thanks

  19. Hi Gina,

Your diet is very healthy and the omega 3 fish oil would help reduce side effects from the chemo.
I hope you manage a full recovery. Wishing you well.

    Kevin.

  20. Hello,

My dad is 63 years old and has been recently diagnosed with metastatic disease. He has a tumor in L4 lumbar spine because of which he has severe pain in the lower back which is also causing pain in both the legs. Therefore, he has great difficulty in walking and standing.
Biopsy has also been done and the diagnosis is ” Moderately Differentiated Squamous Cell Carcinoma”
The doctors have advised to go for the PET CT Scan to locate the primary site (possibly lungs however chest X Ray is absolutely clear) as well to check how much the disease is spread in the body.

We have started Ayurvedic medicines. Please advise if there is any way of curing this disease in a natural manner. My dad has also started having wheat grass juice on empty stomach.

Please be advised that he used to smoke and consume liquor for 40 years. He has quit smoking 6 months back and he doesnt consume alcohol now.

Any help or advise on this is highly appreciated.

    Many Thanks
    Deepak.
